The Collaborative Law Institute of Texas, a statewide organization of lawyers, financial professionals, and mental health professionals committed to collaborative law, has awarded its 3rd annual Gay G. Cox Collaborative Law Award to Linda Solomon, a Dallas-based mental health professional, collaborative law proponent, and collaborative professional trainer.
“I am honored beyond words to have been chosen for this award,” Solomon said, “Gay, as a human being, embodied the collaborative spirit and that makes this award much more meaningful for me. I feel very lucky and blessed to have been in the right place at the right time twelve years ago. It enabled me to help develop a model that is now helping families all over the world. Lastly, I continue to be aware on a daily basis how lucky I am to work with so many committed collaborative professionals in all three disciplines.”
Solomon is the first mental health professional to win this award, following wins the previous two years by Norma Trusch and Harry Tindall, two Houston-based lawyers with long histories as collaborative law proponents. Tindall presented Solomon’s award at the Advanced Family Law Conference in San Antonio this past week.
In addition to her work with couples setting divorces collaboratively, Solomon travels across the nation and around the world to conduct collaborative trainings and to speak to collaborative practice groups. More information about her practice is available at www.lindasolomonlpc.com.
CLI-TX established the Gay G. Cox Collaborative Law Award last year to honor the memory of the Dallas lawyer who passed away in 2012. According to the organization, the award winner is a member of the Collaborative Law Institute of Texas, is substantially involved in collaborative practice, devotes himself or herself fully to any task undertaken (often going above and beyond the call of duty), exemplifies the highest standards of professionalism and ethics, and is passionately committed to transforming the conflict resolution process.
